  • Radio Cosmos redux!

Radio Cosmos is my way of sharing some of the music I love with you guys.  My dad had a radio show here in Dallas back in the 70’s and 80’s, and I guess I got hooked on sharing music from going to the station with him.  About a decade ago, I was really big into live365.com (one of the first big internet radio station sites)  where I had a show that featured 48 hours of “the best music you’ve never heard”.  As with most things, life happened and I had to move on from live365.

I think of the Radio Cosmos channel as a kind of soundtrack for Suzi, and I play the songs that I listen to while I work on the comic.  In fact, I am listening to the station as I write this.  I try to change it around to keep it fresh, and I am always looking for great new music.  If you have some tunes that would fit the style, please share them with me!  Finding cool songs is one of my joys in life, so share what you got and it just might wind up in the playlist!

  • Sunday Science: Fractals

Fractals are amazing. That something so simple can be so complex. I started using fractals in my art about a decade ago. As I have been working on Suzi, the idea that the universe is one big fractal has been lurking in the back of my mind. As I was doing more study on the nature of fractals this weekend, I came across this article from Space.com about how that idea works, but only to a point.

Go check out this cool fractal article from Space.com and let me know what you think.
Have you played with generating your own fractals?  Apophysis 7x is my go to app for creating fractal art, and the best part?  It’s free!  George Kiehne actively develops Apophsis and has some stunning art on his site, so click the link already and start making your own fantastic fractals!

  • Planet of Peril cover revealed!

This has been a long time coming.  After we did Issue 1, we learned alot editing and proofing comics for publication.  We submitted to Comixology, but got kicked back for a few editorial issues concerning fonts.  I felt I fell behind on Issue 2, so I cranked it out as fast as I could.  I could never find the right image for the cover, so I put it off until now.  Let me know what you think!

  • That new theme smell!

I have been working on getting the site setup to handle the art better, like when I display double page spreads.  This new theme will allow me to do that, and look great on your mobile device.  I wanted a cleaner, faster feel to the site and I think this will do the trick.

If you see anything odd, feel free to point it out.  I have a list of tweaks to make, so you might see some minor rearrangements here and there.  Thanks alot for stopping by and reading!  I appreciate you all.

  • More map goodness!

So now that I have the planet sketched out, it seemed like a good rainy Sunday to layout a galactic map.  What do you think?  It’s still a work in progress, but I am liking it so far.
