  • Radio Cosmos updated

I’ve been a huge “retro wave” for the past couple of years now.  Loved it in the 80’s, and now it’s back with a vengeance!  Down in the sidebar, you will find a link to my latest Radio Cosmos playlist.80's  80sThis is usually what is playing as I’m working on Suzi.  Luckily the wife lived thru the 80’s as well,  big hair and all!  If you have any cool music to share, leave a comment with a link.  I am always on the look out for great grooves!

  • Suzi Radio Drama?

When I was young, my Dad had a bluegrass radio show in Dallas, and so every Saturday afternoon, my little brother and I would load up the family station wagon with a select mix of my Dad’s personal music collection and we were off to the big city.  I loved visiting the radio station, and on Saturday nights, it was pretty empty.  My brother and I got to know the radio station and it’s sister TV station across the alley very well.

    Suzi Quazar on the air?

My Dad kept a nice audio studio upstairs at our house, so we were exposed to audio engineering at an early age.  We would create our own radio adventures on tape, then laugh as we played them back with sound effects added.

I would like to do something similar with Suzi, and hire a voice actress to read the script, then I would take it and add the music and effects, narration and all that jazz.  I think it would be a lot of fun,  and would give me a chance to include a lot of story material that didn’t make it in the comic.

That sound like anything you guys would want to hear?

We here at Suzi Quazar proudly support and recognize all the unsung heroines who have battled to make the world a more equal place for women.  Take a moment to think about what you can do for gender parity and visit The International Women’s Day page for more history and ideas on how to start making the world equal for everyone!

  • Very cool!

So Lewaine told me Saturday that Suzi had been mentioned online, and when we checked it out, we saw that Suzi had been selected as Webcomic of the day at best-webcomic.com.  I gotta say it was pretty cool to see so many people had voted for Suzi.  It’s hard to imagine that more than a few people stop by every week (and sometimes every day!), but almost 3 years later, here we are!

I encourage you to check out the other comic links in the side bar.  You can find some amazing stuff out there!

  • Production notes

I am working up the publishing schedule for the remaining books in the Suzi series.  There are 10 issues in this current story arc, and after speaking with the wife/publisher/letterer, I’m going to finish the remaining 6 books this year.  Now that Suzi has my full focus again, it’s time to get her story finished.

  • Sunday Science: Gravity baby

As we resume our Sunday Science column, I’m excited to share this next link with you. We are finally able to detect gravity waves. Why is this a big deal? Well, keep in mind that microwaves were discovered in 1946, but it took 21 years to develop an affordable way for us to use microwave ovens in our kitchens.
My instincts tell me that this is a monumental moment in science, but it could be a bit before we can really wrap our heads around the scope that gravity waves can do for us.

Evan Gough over at UniverseToday.com breaks down this amazing find for you.

  • Twice a week updates!

Making comics (which you can read for free on Kindle, btw) has been a blast, and I am looking forward to the fun we will have along this crazy adventure! I’m getting back to a twice a week updates on Tuesday and Thursday. It’s feels good to get back to the fun of Suzi. All work and no play makes Jason a dull boy.

  • And now back…

hey-thereto our regularly scheduled programming!  Suzi kicks off again on March 1st and I am so happy to be back working with my favorite azure tressed heroine.  After taking time to deal with life, I am ready to get back to our story.  I have had plenty of time to reflect where the story was going, and where my weak spots are.  Amazing what taking a step back will reveal when you look at the sum of your art.

    Good times ahead!
